An enormous, vintage, French fish basket, lidded fisherman's basket, made from wire. Collapsible and perfect for storing fruit and vegetables in your kitchen/larder. Folds flat for ease of storage and transportation. Made circa 1970, it has a wonderful patina. It has a desirable amount of tarnish/rust for that "aged to perfection" vintage look. Authentic and original. It has a "sprung" plastic float door, that closes tightly, opening upwards. The bottom has a "sprung", circular opening flap that opens inwards. Would look equally great in a modern industrial kitchen or rustic/primitive setting. In excellent condition, there are no breaks in the wire, it is perfectly solid and useable. Will hold a heavy weight of vegetable/fruit.

It is huge, when fully extended it measures 70cms/ 27½" long, from the handle to the base. The basket itself is 50cms/ 19½" long x 36cms/ 14¼" diameter, at it's widest. It weighs approx. 650gms/ 1.4 lbs.
