A Charcuterie Box with Chopping Block Lid. "Cave à Saucisson", the perfect way to store Saucissons (French dry cured sausages.)

Ideal for Picnics - the box has a knife storage compartment on the side and the lid is a detachable chopping board (complete with "groove" for slicing accuracy.)

Branded "Jean Dubost" the box comes complete with a handmade "Languiole, Jean Dubost" steak knife. Handmade in France, the knife has the trademark "Bee", in relief on the handle, a sign of the exceptional quality of this knife, the handle being gently curved for perfect grip and cutting action. There is an extra knife with this set.

The box measures 33cms long x 8.5cms wide x 7.5cms deep (13" x 3 ¼" x 3") and has fabulous little circular "aeration" holes with mesh, one on each side, to allow the saucisson to stay fresh and "breathe" when the box is closed for long conservation.
The knife measures 23cms (9") long.
Together they weigh 800gms/ 1.76 lbs.

This box has been used, and so the lid has some slight scratches. In excellent vintage condition, it has many years of service yet to offer.
