This is a fabulous vintage "Champagne Pommery & Greno" ice bucket /wine cooler from the 1960's.

Now iconic and very collectible these ice buckets were a promotional item, never for sale to the general public, given to restaurants, bars and bistros all over France to promote this brand of champagne.

The front of the bucket bears the famous, and instantly recognizable, "Champagne Pommery & Greno" logo.
Founded in 1874 in Reims, Pommery Champagne is one of the most respected estates in the Champagne region. Its Elizabethan-style estate was conceived and built by Mrs Pommery in the 19th century!

It is in excellent condition and, considering its age, there is very little damage to this bucket. It has obviously seen some action in French bars and bistros over the years but is still in remarkably good condition. It has no dents. It has scratches across the surface, consistent with use and some discoloration on the inside, from years of holding ice and water, but it has many, many years of service still to offer.
It has a very tiny flaw (chip) in the edge (please see photo), this in no way detracts from its appeal.
It has sturdy handles, making it easy to carry.
I have left this bucket exactly as I found it, without cleaning it, because I love the authentic patina of its vintage appearance.

The bucket stands 21cms (8¼") tall and is tapered measuring 15cms (6") diameter at the bottom and 21cms (8¼") diameter at the top. It is lightweight at 500gms/ 1.1 lbs.
