There are six different designs illustrating various fish swimming amongst reeds and seashells. The colors and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. This set is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. They have the beginnings of some "hairline crackle" to the glazes, which is to be expected with the age of this set, and does not in any way detract from their beauty or functionality; infact it is desirable for authenticity in styling. A couple of these plates are slight deeper than the others and one of the plates has a glazing flaw. The flaw is glazed over, so was present at the firing and glazing stages of manufacture (see last photo.)
The plates measure 24.5 cms / 9½" diameter and each weigh 400 gms / 14 ozs.
They are truly gorgeous plates with many years of service yet to offer.
