This charming and decorative French glass ice bucket would have been given to bars, cafés and bistros in France in the 1950's as an advertising promotional by St. Raphaël, makers of 'Aperitif Rouge' (an aromatised aperitif wine.)
The ice bucket is a great intimate size, perfect for a drinks cart, or to carry outside when celebrating the start of the weekend 'aux deux'. The thickness of the glass means your ice cubes will stay solid for hours.
I've been using these fabulous ice buckets as candle holders for many years, as their thick glass makes them ideal to hang outdoors as lanterns for garden parties. These vintage ice buckets make the perfect retro table decorations, interesting, chic, and safe too, as glass is the perfect container for indoor candles. I've styled it this way in the photos to give you a 'feel' for how it looks as a table decoration.
Perfect for displaying with other vintage, collectible glass, the bold red and white logo is striking and instantly recognizable and will sit stylishly with your collection of French antiques or modern collectibles in your kitchen or bar.
The ice bucket has a "diamond" pattern, a metal handle and measures 10cms/4" or 17cms/6½" (to the handle) and is 11.5cms/4½" diameter. It weighs 600gms /1.3lbs.
The glass is in pristine, perfect condition, the metal handle shows some slight loss of patina, consistent with age.
A unique and original gift for a host or hostess, you can add some lemons, vintage drinks stirrers and your favorite bottle, et voilà, the perfect ice bucket present..............
This ice bucket will be sent to you with a brand new candle (like the one in the photos) included.
I have more of these gorgeous ice buckets here in my shop, if you'd like to buy more than one to display.
