This is a stunning set of five antique/vintage French books in faded beige/ peach/ dusky orange tones. They are "aged to perfection" and will give you an instant "old library" effect. There are works here by some of France's most famous writers, such as Voltaire and Lamartine to give your bookshelves added French chic!

They look lovely tied up with twine and displayed on a coffee table, sideboard, mantelpiece, bedside table or dresser. The covers have faded with time to subtle, dusky, soft shades and the pages are yellowed with age, with age spots. They make excellent film and photo props and would be ideal for a boho, or shabby chic, themed wedding as a table centerpiece decoration.

The five books are all hardcover edition, distressed from years of genuine use, and some of the pages are delicate and loose:

The titles are:

Graziella/ Raphaël, A. de Lamartine (early 1900's edition.) Alphonse Marie Louis de Prat de Lamartine, Knight of Pratz (21 October 1790 – 28 February 1869), was a French author, poet, and statesman who was instrumental in the foundation of the Second Republic and the continuation of the Tricolore as the flag of France. "Graziella" is his 1852 novel. It tells of a young French man who falls for a fisherman's granddaughter – the eponymous Graziella – during a trip to Naples, Italy; they are separated when he must return to France, and she soon dies. Based on the author's experiences with a tobacco-leaf folder while in Naples in the early 1810s, Graziella was first written as a journal and intended to serve as commentary for Lamartine's poem "Le Premier Regret". "Raphaël" was written in 1849 and is a transposed account of his love for Julie Charles.
