This is a set of five French, porcelain, bowls. Each bowl has a classic recipe of Moules (Mussels.) Who doesn't love the famous French classic 'Moules Frites'?
What a great opportunity to impress your dinner guests - a great 'talking point'- and an excellent opportunity to try out these French 'Moule' Classics.
The dishes are deep sided to hold a stack of moules easily, keeping lots of the cooking juice/sauce in the bottom.

They are very collectable and an ideal gift for fish chefs or for anyone who loves French Cuisine.

The set consists of:
Five round bowls with five different 'recipe' designs measuring 19cms/ 7 ½" diameter.
Altogether they weigh 1.2kgs /2.6lbs.
All these dishes are in perfect condition with no chips, scratches or cracks. They all have the 'Porcelaine du Val de Cher 'L', France' mark on the undersides.

The Designs are:

Les Moules à la Rochelaise (Mussels of La Rochelle)

2 Litres de moules, 4 échalotes, 1 dl de vin blanc sec, 2 branches de thym, 1 feuille de laurier, 3 ou 4 branches de persil, 2 gousses d'ail, 1 tasse de chapelure, 1 dl de crémé fraiche, 2 oufs, 50gms de beurre, sel, poivre.
(2 litres of mussels, 4 shallots, ½ litre of dry white wine, 2 spigs of thyme, 1 leaf of Laurel, 3 or 4 sprigs of parsley, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 cup of breadcrumbs, ½ litre of fresh cream, 2 eggs, 50gms of butter, salt, pepper.)


Les Moules à l'Italienne (Italian Mussels)

3 Litres de moules, 1 verre de vin blanc sec, 1 oignon, 1 bouquet garni, 4 eschalots, 750gr de tomates mûres, 2 gousses d'ail, 2 branches de persil, 3 branches de cerfeuil, 1 verre de vermouth blanc sec, huile, 1 cuillerée à café de sucre, sel, poivre de cayenne.
(3 litres of mussels, 1 glass of dry white wine, 1 onion, 1 bouquet garni, 4 eschalots, 750gms of ripe tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 spigs of parsley, 3 sprigs of chervil, 1 glass of dry white vermouth, oil, 1 teaspoon of sugar, salt, cayenne pepper.)


Les Moules à la Setoise

6 à 8 gousses moules par personne, 1 verre de vin blanc sec, 100gr de chair à saucisse, 200gr de hachis de restes de veau, de jambon ou de volaille, mie de pain, 1 grand verre de lait, persil, gousse d'ail, brin de thym, 1 gros oignon, sel, poivre.
(6 to 8 mussels per person, 1 glass of dry white wine, 100gms of sausage meat, 200gms of veal leftovers, ham or poultry, breadcrumbs, 1 large glass of milk, parsley, clove of garlic, sprig of thyme, 1 big onion, salt, pepper.)

Les Moules à la Bordelaise (Bordeaux Mussels)

2 litres de moules, 2 échalotes, 1 carotte, 1 oignon, 1 branche de céleri, 1 petit bouquet de persil, 2 dl de créme fraiche, 1 dl de vin blanc sec, 50gm de beurre, 1 cuillerée à soupe de farine, 1 bouquet garni, sel, poivre.
(2 litres of mussels, 2 shallots, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 1 sprig of celery, 1 small bouquet of parsley, 2½ of fresh cream, ½ of dry white wine, 50 of butter, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 bouquet garni, salt, pepper.)

Les Moules à la Camarguaise

2 litres de moules, 2 gousses d'ail, 2 échalotes, ½ verre de vin blanc sec, ¼ de litre d'huile, 1 jaune d'oeuf, 6 goutes de pastis, 1 cuillerée à dessert de moutarde, quelques brins de cerfeuil, sel, poivre.
(2 litres of mussels, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 shallots, ½/ glass of dry white wine, ¼ litre of oil, 1 egg yolk, 6 drops of Pastis, 1 teaspoon of mustard, a few strands of chervil, salt, pepper.)
