A pretty, creamy beige, ceramic, devilled egg plate, made in Spain.
It has a delicate "garlic cloves and bulbs" motif, in the center, and has been hand painted. It holds a dozen (12) egg halves and has a large, square, central ‘wells’ for serving sauces or dips to accompany your devilled eggs.
It’s the perfect size for serving canapés/ appetizers with aperitifs (pre-dinner drinks) for early evening soirées. It would also make an interesting egg storage tray, sitting prettily on a kitchen dresser.
It is in perfect condition, with no chips, scratches or cracks.
In a square design, softened at the edges, it measures 29cms/ 11 ½" x 29cms/ 11 ½" and weighs 800gms/ 1.76 lbs.
Here's a recipe for Classic Deviled Eggs if you'd like to try making some:
Slice hardboiled eggs in half lengthwise, removing the yolks into a bowl and place the whites on the serving platter.
Mash the yolks into a fine crumble using a fork.
Add mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Evenly disperse heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites.
Sprinkle with paprika and serve.
