This is a collectible Deer platter, from the 1960's, by Moulin des Loups, France.
This platter would make an ideal table centerpiece for serving a beautifully prepared haunch of venison.
It would also be a wonderful party or buffet piece, for serving patés/ canapés /entrée/ hors d'oeuvre (starter) courses, to add style to your setting.
It would also look wonderful displayed on a wall in a hunting lodge / country manor setting.
The platter has a delicate, fluted, edge with 'gilt line' border. It measures 37.5cms (14¾") long x 26cms (10¼") wide and weighs 900gms (2 lbs.)
It is deep, at the edges, 4cms (1½"), so that the meat can be served with sauces and dressings, without risk of spillage.
It has a gorgeous scene showing Deer at the edge of a forest. The colors and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic.
The muted palette of subtle autumnal tones gives this platter a sophisticated, timeless quality.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. It has the 'MOULIN DES LOUPS 'ORCHIES' NORD' France porcelain mark on the underside.
