Dating from 1690, 1835, 1882 and the early 1900's, they are "aged to perfection." Not only is this stack sensational, in colour and patina, it is outstanding in content.

These six books are all hardcover editions, distressed from years of genuine use, and some of the pages are delicate.

The titles are:

Instructions Dogmatiques et Morales Pour Faire Saintement Sa Premiere Communion (1690 edition.) Just one peek inside the cover of this book tells you, its age. The typeface and print ooze style and authenticity. For its 332 years it is in remarkable condition, perfectly intact, delicately scuffed, unbelievable beautiful. It is a religious instruction book for those studying to take holy communion for the first time.

Les Enfants d'Aujourd Hui par Une Mère de Famille (1863 edition.) Today's children by a mother of the mid-1800s. This book has a wonderful, marbleized, cover and 40 gorgeous little "vignette" illustrations throughout. It is 159 years old!

De La Propriété, M.A Thiers (1868 edition.) This 154-year-old book studies the ideas and thoughts on Property. It has chapters on the law, rights, taxes from both socialist and communist perspectives.

Chateaubriand, Oeuvres Choisies, CH. Florisoone (1941 edition). François-René, Vicomte de Chateaubriand (1768–1848) was a French writer, politician, diplomat and historian who founded Romanticism in French literature. This book contains many of his most famous works, such as Atala, Le Génie du Christianisme, René, Essai Sur Les Revolution, Les Martyres and Les Natchez to name but a few!

Lamartine, Oeuvres Choisies, Maurice Levaillent (1925 edition.) Selected works by Alphonse Marie Louis de Prat de Lamartine, Knight of Pratz (21 October 1790 – 28 February 1869) A French author, poet, and statesman who was instrumental in the foundation of the Second Republic and the continuation of the Tricolore as the flag of France. A pioneer of the French Romantic movement, he is considered one of the greatest French poets of the nineteenth century. He was also a prominent statesman who wrote a number of historical works that were popular in his day. Lamartine is now remembered as a significant figure in the history of French literature whose poetry marked the transition from the restraints of the neoclassical era to the passion and lyricism of the Romantics.

Vigny, Poésies, Chatterton (1950 edition.) Alfred Victor, Comte de Vigny (27 March 1797 – 17 September 1863) was a French poet and early leader of French Romanticism. This book has a huge selection of his poetry alongside his 1835 drama, Chatterton, based on the life of Thomas Chatterton, considered to be one of the best French romantic dramas.
