This is a stunning set of five antique French books in faded green tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect. There are works by some of France's most famous writers; Malherbe, Alfred de Musset and La Bruyère to give your bookshelves added French Chic!

This 'green' book bundle is made up of very collectible and increasingly hard to find books. Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.

The five books are all distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose.

The titles are:
Les Caractères, La Bruyère (Paperback early 1900's edition.) Jean de La Bruyère (16 August 1645 – 11 May 1696) was a French philosopher and moralist, who was noted for his satire. He is best known for this one work, Les Caractères, which is considered to be one of the masterpieces of French literature.

La Confession d'Un Enfant du Siècle, Alfred de Musset (Paperback early 1900's edition.) Alfred Louis Charles de Musset-Pathay (11 December 1810 – 2 May 1857) was a French dramatist, poet, and novelist. He was the librarian of the French Ministry of the Interior under the July Monarchy. The tale of his celebrated love affair with George Sand, which lasted from 1833 to 1835, is told from his point of view in this autobiographical novel; "The Confession of a Child of the Century."

Oeuvres de Malherbe (Paperback early 1900's edition.) François de Malherbe (1555 – 16 October 1628) was a French poet, critic, and translator. This is a collection of his works.

Histoire Modern, Classe de première. Cours d'Histoire de Pirolet et Bernard (c. 1903 edition.) This book covers modern history from 1715 to 1815. It has lots of scholarly notes, remarks and comments, on the pages. A lovely book that has clearly been well studied and is full of character.

Histoire Modern, Classe de seconde. Cours d'Histoire de Pirolet et Bernard (c. 1903 edition.) This book also has wonderful study notes, tucked inside the pages, hand written in French script, giving it a rich history and personality.

To display them altogether, in a bundle, you will need a minimum space of 14cms/ 5½" high x 19cms/ 7½" long x 14cms/ 5½" deep.
