The perfect shabby chic plate collection, ideal for displaying on vintage dressers/ kitchen walls or for shabby chic dinner parties.
This is a 'one of a kind' plate collection, sumptuously ornate plates, rare and collectible.
All these plates are French, dating from the 1920's, to the 1970's. They all have gold 'gilt' edges.
Altogether they weigh 3.2kgs/ 7 lbs!
The stack is made up of:
Two " Limoges Porcelaine" plates, measuring 21.5cms/ 8½" diameter.
These plates have a gorgeous, wide border, of ornate "filigree" lace gilding. They are slightly smaller than dinner plates, perfect for entrée/starter courses of fish pâtes or terrines.
Two "Longchamp" plates, measuring 22cms/ 8½". These plates are in a square design, softened at the edges.
Two "Lunéville" dishes, with a wide 'ribbed" border, measuring 23cms/ 9" diameter. They are deep, at the edge, 4cms/ 1½", so they are perfect for fish soup, or fish served with sauces and dressings, so there is no risk of spillage.
Lunéville Faience is one of the most famous French pottery manufacturers. It has been located in Lunéville, Lorraine, France since 1730 and is very collectible. This Lunéville K & G (Keller et Guerin) mark dates from 1923 onwards.
Two large "Longchamp" dinner plates, measuring 25cms / 9¾" diameter.
They are all in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. They have the beginnings of 'hairline crackle' to the glazes, which is to be expected with the age of these plates, and in no way detracts from the beauty or quality of this beautiful plate stack. They have many years of service yet to offer.
