Published in 1936/1937 they are a collection of poems by Victor Hugo, conceived as an immense depiction of the history and evolution of humanity.
Victor Hugo (26 February 1802 – 22 May 1885) was a French poet, playwright, novelist, essayist, visual artist, statesman, human rights campaigner and dramatist of the Romantic movement. Hugo is considered to be one of the greatest and best-known French writers.
Victor Hugo wrote these poems intermittently between 1855 and 1876.

In amazing condition, "aged to perfection" the pages are slightly yellowed with age, with age spots.
