A set of six BBQ skewer (Brochette) plates with wonderful vibrant recipe illustrations.
They are all in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. All marked "Berry Haute Porcelaine France". An excellent gift for anyone who loves to cook outdoors and wants to add some "French chic" to their barbecue parties.
The set consists of six rectangular (decagon) shaped plates with six different "BBQ skewer" recipe designs measuring 26cms x 17cms (10¼" x 6½).
The Designs are:
Brochette Forestière - Forest skewer made with Chestnuts and Mushrooms
Brochette de Fruits - Fruit skewer
Brochette de Poisson - Fish skewer
Brochette de Boeuf - Skewer of beef
Brochette de Merguez - Skewer made with Merguez (hot spicy lamb) sausage. Merguez is a red, spicy mutton or lamb based fresh sausage from North Africa that is very popular in France. The skewer usually has layers of the Merguez sausage alternating between tomato and onion.
Brochette de Cervelas - Skewer of Saveloy
Here is a recipe if you would like to try them:
Ingrédients:
4 cervelas, pelés, coupés en rondelles
4 Savaloy, peeled, sliced in slices
1 petit concombre, éventuellement pelé, coupé en 2, puis en rondelles
1 small cucumber, possibly peeled, cut into 2, then in slices
6-8 pommes de terre nouvelles, cuites al dente, coupées en 2
6-8 new potatoes, cooked al dente, cut in 2
beurre ou crème à rôtir
Butter or roasting cream
Poivre/Pepper
4 cs of mustard/ 4 teaspoons of Mustard
aneth ciselé fin/ chopped dill
Préparation: env. 30 min
Piquer les cervelas, les cornichons et les pommes de terre sur les brochettes en alternant, griller/cuire 8-10 min sur toutes les faces dans le beurre à rôtir chaud, poivrer, dresser sur des assiettes. Mélanger la moutarde et l'aneth, servir à part.
Prick the saveloy, pickles and potatoes on the skewers by alternating, grilling/baking 8-10 min on all sides in the hot roast butter, pepper, serve on the plates. Mix a mustard and dill dressing to serve with the skewers.
They really are an irresistible set of French porcelain plates.
