This set of four vintage, game bird, plates are the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys hunting and cooking their quarry.
They are large, measuring 25cms/ 9¾" diameter. They all have a gold "line" edge pattern and weigh 500gms/ 1.1lbs each
There are four different designs of the pairs of Pheasant, Partridge, Snipe and Grouse, illustrated in their natural habitats. The colors and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic.
They are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and they all have the "Longchamp France" mark on the undersides. There is some very, very slight "wear" to the gilding, on a couple of the plates, and they have the beginnings of some slight "hairline" crackle to the glazes, consistent with their age. Barely detectable, and not noticeable at normal viewing distance, this in no way detracts from their functionality or beauty.
These plates would look wonderful displayed in a hunting lodge / country manor setting.
