A set of five, French copper pans with brass handles. They are ideal for hanging above large country kitchen fireplaces or from rustic beams in converted barn kitchens these pans are the ultimate farmhouse styling accessories. They have a genuine, authentic patina from "by-gone" times and ooze style. Three of them are stamped "Metaux-Ouvres-Vesoul, Art et Cuisine, Made in France" and two are stamped "Made in France", near the handles. The three "Metaux-Ouvres-Vesoul" have a "rounded oval" handle end, the other two have a "pointed" shaped handle base. Altogether they weigh 4kgs / 8.8 lbs.
I've not tried to clean them up, as I love the vintage, "aged to perfection" look that the tarnished copper has for authenticity. Please take a good look at the photos, as the pans are in vintage, condition. There are surface scratches and tarnish marks, consistent with their age and use. They have "dings" and mild "dints" but no major dents. Irresistibly charming, the linings are worn, scratched and discoloured, adding to their "rustic charm"!
They really are lovely to display but please do take a good look at the photos. As with all vintage copper, they have signs of verdigris in the grooves and indentations.
The largest pan measures 20cms / 8" diameter x 10cms/ 4" deep x 37cms/ 14½" long, to the handle. Second pan is 18cms/ 7" diameter x 9cms/ 3½" deep x 34cms/ 13½" long, to the handle. Third pan is 16cms/ 6¼" diameter x 7.5cms/ 3" deep x 31cms/ 12¼" long, to the handle. Fourth pan is 14cm/ 5½" diameter x 7cms/ 2¾" deep x 27cms/ 10½" long, to the handle. Smallest pan is 12cms/ 4¾" x 6cms/ 2½" x 23cms/ 9" long, to the handle. The three "Metaux-Ouvres-Vesoul" pans are 1mm thick, the other two are 1.5mm thick.
