This pair of elegant, ornate, bronze, French wall light sconces will add a touch of "Rococo/Baroque" style to any period home. In excellent vintage condition, they have some signs of natural tarnishing and their patina is darker in some areas than others, giving them the look and feel of stylish early 19th century "French Empire" interiors. The rich, glossy gold is sumptuously ornate. Each sconce has two fixed arms with sockets for candle-shaped, screw fitting bulbs. Each branch terminates in a decorated bronze drip tray, of overlapping Acanthus leaves, with the original imitation "dripping" candle covers that slide on and off of the stems easily. The candle drips are in cream plastic and in good condition.
These lights are wired with the original vintage wiring. They are both in full working order, the photo shows them lit, in full working order, complete with "candle" bulbs. *Please note that the light bulbs are for display only and will not be dispatched with the sconces due to the various voltages used around the world.
The lights fix securely to the wall, through a hole in the back plate. The back plate measures 25cms/ 10" long, from top to bottom. They are 24cms/ 9½" wide (span across both arms.) They are 11cms /4¼" deep and each weighs 1kg/ 2.2 lbs!
