An original 1950s Tin MOULI-JULIENNE Vegetable Slicer/ Grater. Made in France. Comes complete with SEVEN original cutting disc blades for different slicing/shredding/grating. It is rare to find one of these fabulous utensils complete and working. The patina is amazing, adding to its authenticity and charm. The two front feet pull out and clip, to stabilise the slicer when in use, and fold away for ease of storage when not in use. They have their original rubber feet still intact. The discs are inserted into the slots on the underside. The handle lifts out to allow the insertion of the disks, and then connects to each cutting disc to rotate. The hinged arm lifts up to allow you to insert the vegetables and then apply pressure to push them through the rotating blades. There are five different slicing/grating shapes as two of the discs have duplicates.
Simple to use, it is a wonderful eco-friendly, no electricity or batteries, old-fashioned kitchen utensil that is gentle with the vegetables, slicing them slowly to retain the maximum goodness. Made in France, it is embossed with the words "U.S. Pat. 2528381 Canadian Pat. 487 082 485 685" on one side and "a " Mouli" Product Other Pat. Pend" on the other.
In excellent vintage condition, in full working order, it is perfect for vintage kitchen displays and food photography props. It has obvious signs of wear, from years of genuine use in the kitchens of provincial France, so please do take a good look at the photos to view it's condition. The rust and tarnish marks simply make it more alluring!
