Long Fish/ Seafood Serving Platter. French Limoges Porcelain.

This is a gorgeous, fish platter, measuring a huge 56cms/ 22" long x 24cms/ 9½", at its widest. It is deep sided too", 4cms/ 1½", so that the fish can be served with sauces and dressings, without risk of spillage.

This would make an ideal table centerpiece for serving a beautifully prepared Lobster, Trout, Salmon or other fish. It would also be a wonderful party or buffet piece, for serving stylish canapés and nibbles, to add elegance to your setting. It is ideal for large catering events such as weddings, banquets and big family gatherings. It looks so impressively stunning it will be a real "talking point".

The fluted, shell shaped edges have ridges, reminiscent of scallop shells, there is a "swirling pattern" at the narrow end, forming a "sauce" space. Subtly illustrated with two Roach fish swimming in a river, they are accurately represented, with the fins, scales and tails in fine detail. Most impressive is the way the water has been "brushed" across the fish to give the impression of their movement through the water.
Stylishly understated, it will add a timeless elegance to your fish dinner course.

It is heavy weighing 1.4kgs/ 3 lbs!
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Originally part of a larger Limoges porcelain dinnerware set, it is unmarked.
