This is a stunning set of six antique French books in faded green tones. They are "aged to perfection" and will give you an instant "old library" effect. There are works by one of France's most famous writers, Alfred de Musset, to give your bookshelves added French Chic!

This green book bundle is made up of very collectible and increasingly hard to find books. They are in genuine vintage condition, as you can see from the photos. They have been held and read by many, many people who have "thumbed through" them, studied them, ear marked pages, loved, lost and cherished them and they have finally ended up here - looking for a new home and a new adventure. They have also gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.

Most importantly they have that "old book smell" reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.

The six books are all distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose.

The titles are:

Anthologie des Romanciers du XIXè Siècle, Edouard Maynial (Hardcover 1931 edition.) This Anthology of the Novelists of the Nineteenth Century, has works by all of France's famous writers of the time, such as Gustave Flauberts "Madam Bovary, Alexandre Dumas's Three Musketeers, Victor Higo's Les Misérables and many more works from Emiole Zola, Lmertine, Chateaubriand, Alfred de Musset, Alfred de igny and Alhonse Daudet and more!

Premières Poésies 1829 à 1835, Alfred de Musset (Paperback early 1900's edition.) Alfred Louis Charles de Musset-Pathay (11 December 1810 – 2 May 1857) was a French dramatist, poet, and novelist. This is a collection of the poetry written in his early career.

Poésies Nouvelles 1836 à 1852, Alfred de Musset (Paperback early 1900's edition.) The follow-on book of poetry written in his later years.

Comédies et Proverbes, Alfred de Musset, tome deuxième (Paperback early 1900's edition.) This book contains three of Alfred de Musset's most famous plays. Lorenzaccio, written in 1834, set in 16th-century Florence, Le Chandelier, from 1835, and Ne Faut Jurer de Rien, from 1836. This book has many of its pages uncut/not separated - they have been like this since publication - and are even more charming for it.

La Tour de la France, par Deux Enfants, Devoir et Patrie. G. Bruno (Hardcover 1914 edition.) This is a famous French novel/geography/travel/schoolbook. It was written by Augustine Fouillée (née Tuillerie) who used the pseudonym of G. Bruno. She was the wife of Alfred Jules Émile Fouillée. The book was widely used in the schools of the Third Republic, where it was influential for generations of children in creating a sense of a unified nation of France. Its success was such that it reached a circulation of 6 million copies in 1900. It was still used in schools until the 1950s. This book has gathered some pencilled scholarly notes, remarks, drawings and comments, on the pages, over the years.

Précis d'Histoire Romaine, Classe de 4è (classique) et 5è (moderne), A. Ammann et E.-C. Coutant (Hardcover c.1900 edition.) A brief history of Rome and the Romans for adolescents aged 13 - 15 years old.
