French Wooden Pedestal Plant Stand with Shelf. Dark Wood Pot Stand. Circa 1940's.

Vintage French wooden polished turned hardwood pedestal. Plant stand. A darkly varnished wooden pot or ornament stand with a little shelf for books or other items. It is solid, sturdy and super stylish.
Perfect for hallways/entryways and library/reading rooms.
It is threaded, throughout, and comes apart into sections, for ease of storage and transportation.
It stands 69cms/ 27" tall. The base is 23cms/ 9" diameter. The shelf, which is offset, is 21.5cms/ 8½" diameter. The top bowl is 11cms/ 4¼" diameter, with a "carved out" section that is 9cms/ 3½" diameter x 3.5cms/ 1¼" deep. It weighs 1.8kgs/ 4 lbs.
It is a genuine vintage item and therefore has some surface scratches/scapes from years of genuine use. The varnish has slight signs of "wear" and is slightly "rough" in places, adding extra authenticity and charm.
The larger leg section has a wood split, present since it was carved, it does not effect the integrity of the leg at all, it is simply a "drying/stretching" crack, from when the wood was originally turned, before varnishing. (see photo.)
It has many, many years of service yet to offer.
