French Polished Wooden Pedestal Plant Stand. Dark Wood Pot Stand. Circa 1940's.

Vintage French wooden polished turned hardwood pedestal. Plant stand. A darkly varnished wooden pot stand. It is solid, sturdy and super stylish.
Perfect for hallways/entryways and library/reading rooms.
It stands 59cms/ 23¼" tall. The base is 21.5cms/ 8½" diameter. The top bowl is 15cms/ 6" diameter, with a "carved out" section that is 12cms/ 4¾" diameter x 5cms/ 2" deep. It weighs 2.7 kgs./ 6 lbs.
It is a genuine vintage item and therefore has some surface scratches/scapes from years of genuine use. The varnish has slight signs of "wear" and is slightly "rough" in places, adding extra authenticity and charm. Please see the last photo, for a close up of some discolouration on the leg (we think this was due to there having been a label stuck to it, at some point in it's past!) It does not detract in any way from it's beauty or functionality.
It has many, many years of service yet to offer.
A wonderful, unusual stand from a "by-gone" era!
