This is a set of eight mismatched blue and white transferware plates and bowls. A one-off curated collection, perfect for displaying on a country cottage dresser or for weddings and vintage tea parties.
Each pattern is different, each is equally as lovely. These look absolutely charming when layering on top of each other. You will receive exactly this set of plates/dishes.
This collection weighs 3.4kgs/ 7.6 lbs altogether. There are two large dinner plates measuring 25.5cms/ 10" diameter. Both are from a range named "English Style" by "Lunéville Faience", founded in 1732." One large, deep bowl, measuring 24.5cms/ 9½" diameter x 4.5cms/ 1¾" deep. It is by "N.F. Fontebasso Italy" from a range named "Swiss Landscape." One medium dinner plate, measuring 23.5cms/ 9¼" diameter, marked "Porcelaine, Pyroblan, B.P" One large dish/bowl, measuring 22.5cms/ 8¾" by "Sarreguemines, France". It is from a range named "Romantic." Two salad/side plates, measuring 20.5cms/ 8" diameter. One has a makers mark; "Blue Fruit, Wood & Sons, England" One small bowl, measuring 16cms/ 6¼" diameter x 4cms/ 1½" deep. Marked "Churchill, Made in Staffordshire, England".
They are all in excellent condition. There are no chips. They have plenty of desirable ageing "hairline crackle" to the glazes, and some mild discoloration, which is to be expected with the age of these plates and is perfect for that "antique" look and feel, adding to their authenticity and charm. A couple of the plates have a slightly rough "nibbled" feel to the edges.
