2 Framed, 1800s Medical Caricatures

A set of TWO, framed, medical science caricature prints. These are not book pages, they are REAL PRINTS.
FRAMED AND READY TO HANG.
They show various diseases as social satire. The illnesses lampooned the "Vapors" and "Scabies".
Rare and collectible, these would make a thoughtful gift for any doctor or graduating medic.

The illustrators were Antoine Chazal (1793 - 1854). Charles Aubry (1817 - 1837), Hippolyte Bellangé (1800 - 1866) and Alexandre-Marie Colin (1798 - 1875). They are from the 1989 edition of "ALBUM COMIQUE DE PATHOLOGIE PITTORESQUE." by Ambroise Tardieu* and published by editions Louis Pariente.

These prints are copies from the original Lithography, by Langlumé, in the "Comic album of picturesque pathology"; a collection of twenty medical caricatures, published in Paris by Huzard-Courcier for Ambroise Tardieu in 1823.

Big format prints, on heavyweight paper in exceptional quality colour.
The frames measure 37cms/ 14½" x 30cms/ 12".
