Straight out of a Raymond Chandler or Georges Simenon detective novel this is a wonderful original piece of 1960's nostalgia. We can imagine Inspector Maigret using one just like it!

This phone is in remarkable condition, with no chips or cracks. The dial moves freely, making that fabulous clicking noise when dialing!

We're selling it as a decorative object but it's possible that a clever telecoms engineer could wire it to modern standards, it has the wires still attached, ready for connection.

It was originally the property of the P.T.T. - Postes, Télégraphes et Téléphones - the French administration of postal services and telecommunications, formed in 1921. It ceased to exist in 1991, when it became separated into todays 'La Poste' and 'France Télécom.'
The plate on the base states that it was made by "Ch. Mildé Fils & Cie" who were makers of electrical appliances in Paris, so it's a genuine, authentic vintage piece.
Hard to part with - we think it's super cool and would make a great gift for anyone who loves retro 1960's decor.

It weighs 2kgs /4.4 lbs!
It measures 14cms/ 5½" high, 29cms/ 11½" at its widest (the handset) and is 19cms/ 7½" deep.

What's not to love?...........Bonne conversation!
