A vintage French fish basket, lidded fisherman's basket, made from wire. Collapsible and perfect for storing fruit and vegetables in your kitchen/larder. Folds flat for ease of storage and transportation. Made circa 1950, it has a wonderful patina. It has a desirable amount of tarnish/rust for that "aged to perfection" vintage look. Authentic and original. It has a "sprung" door, that closes tightly, opening inwards. The bottom has a "loop" pull handle. Would look equally great in a modern industrial kitchen or rustic/primitive setting. In excellent condition, there are no breaks in the wire, it is perfectly solid and useable.

It is large, when fully extended it measures 40cms/ 15¾" long, from the handle to the base. The basket itself is 24cms/ 9½" long x 26cms/ 10¼" diameter, at the base. It weighs approx. 450gms/ 1lb.
