This is an extra large, oval, mid-century platter for serving grilled meats. A 1970's, French porcelain, BBQ / mixed grill plate. It is large, measuring 39.5cms/15½" long x 29cms/11½" wide.
Ideal for anyone who loves cooking outdoors and wants to add a bit of 'French chic' to their barbecue parties. Perfect for collectors of Kitsch, 1970's, ceramics.
It is sturdy weighing 1.3kgs/ 2.8bs!
It is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches.
The illustration is amazing in the detail packed into it. There is the obligatory jar of 'Herbs de Provence', alongside the plate of freshly grilled chops, surrounded by fresh parsley, tomatoes, onions, shallots, garlic and red peppers. The traditional jar of 'moutard' (mustard) and wine sit next to the bread on the lovely red, chequered, table cloth. The wine is shown in a traditional wicker carafe carrier with gorgeous little fine details, such as the twisted wicker handle and cork stopper. The barbecue has a bed of coals and little lines of smoke rising. The edge border is a joyful array of vegetables, again with fabulous extra touches, like the tiny separated garlic cloves. The more you look at it the more you see.
A great display plate for a country dresser. A rare and unusual gift for anyone who loves to BBQ!
